Pipe Lining, Epoxy Coating & Video Inspection |
Pipe LiningSpecializing in the industrial manufacturing sector, Hill Services understands the importance of assisting plant maintenance and engineers in avoiding costly disruption of production. Cured in Place Piping (CIPP) is a cost effective way to rehabilitate drain lines that run underneath sensitive equipment and through difficult to access areas. CIPP is the answer to minimizing downtime and increasing efficiency, shortening construction delays and prioritizing production by reducing the need for excavations. |
Epoxy CoatingProtect structural assets from hydrogen sulfide (H2S) while eliminating inflow and infiltration (I&I). These 100% solid high build epoxies are safe for the applicator as well as the environment. |
Video InspectionOur Video Inspection reports help determine the overall condition of the existing host pipe, identify (I&I) inflow and infiltration, premature failures, diameter, length, and pipe type. Hill Services will provide a complete written video inspection report with Pipeline Mapping and Video Record documentation. |

ODFJELL – Oil ProjectPlant engineers were experiencing multiple leaks on a 6 inch carbon steel discharge line that ran from the refinery to a discharge facility approximately 3.5 miles away. Because of the compromised line, the engineers determined that the refinery was inadvertently discharging treated waste water into the surrounding soil around the pipeline. This situation was unacceptable to ODFJELL management and the pipeline was shut down to stop the inadvertent discharge into the ground. As a result of the pipeline shutdown, and at great expense, ODFJELL was forced to truck the treated waste water from the refinery to the discharge facility on a daily basis until a solution could be found. Engineers issued a Request for Quote (RFQ) to rehabilitate the pipe using Cured in Place Piping (CIPP). While Hill Services is a seasoned CIPP contractor, due to the length and pressure requirements of the discharge line, Hill Services personnel determined that a Primus Line installation would be a faster and more economical way to rehabilitate the pipeline compared to the CIPP method. Hill Services was the winning bidder and cleaned the pipe using an air pigging method. Once the cleaning of the pipeline was completed, Hill Services video inspected the line to verify it was properly cleaned, then deployed the Primus Line Low Pressure Liner for approximately 16,000 linear feet. The project finished under budget and on schedule, allowing ODFJELL to resume normal use of the discharge line. |
Chemours – Nuclear ProjectChemours plant maintenance personnel had repeatedly repaired an aging 10 inch carbon steel water line that ran through the heart of the plant for approximately 1,400 linear feet. This water line was located under cooling towers, buildings and a main road artery that made conventional excavation very difficult, if not impossible. Plant engineers contacted Hill Services to find an alternative method of rehabilitating the water line instead of conventional replacement. Due to pressure on the line and the fact that the media flowing through the pipe was potable water, Hill Services recommended installing the Primus Line Low Pressure Liner to rehabilitate the water line. After careful review of the Primus Line product, Chemours engineers agreed that Primus Line was an excellent option for rehabilitating their pipe. Once the material was on hand and the proper excavations were made, Hill Services cut the piping as necessary and, using hydro flushing, cleared the pipeline of debris in preparation for the deployment of the Primus Line liners. Once cleared, Hill Services video inspected the pipe using CCTV and deployed the Primus Line liners. The entire project took about seven days from start to finish. Chemours engineers were pleased with the short time frame involved in the installation as well as the cost savings realized from using the Primus Line product instead of conventional excavation. |
